About the role ============== Sulzer Falkirk is a strategic investment site, built to be one of the most advanced rotating equipment service centres in the UK. That investment is real — bigger machines, heavier lifts, and a 2 MW high‑voltage test bed that lets us fully load‑test motors and generators before they go back to site. **Main tasks and responsibilities**  ==================================== * Dismantling, rewinding, rebuilding and testing AC and DC motors, including traction motors * LV motor rewinds and full electro‑mechanical overhauls * Strip, clean and prepare stators and armatures for rewinding * Manufacture and fit coils to original design — random wound and formed coils * Dip, bake and varnish windings using dip tanks or VPI where required * Carry out static electrical tests and record results * Basic mechanical fitting on associated equipment like pumps and gearboxes **What we’re looking for** ============================= * Time‑served Winder, Fitter or Electrical Machine Repair background * Solid experience stripping, rewinding, assembling and testing AC/DC motors * Comfortable in a mechanical / electrical workshop environment * Can read drawings, follow procedures, and work methodically * Takes pride in quality and doing the job right first time * Formal qualifications help — hands‑on experience matters more.
