Wound Care Technician - Prn

**\*\*DAY SHIFT\*\*** **PRN Position** Primary Purpose Provides debridement and wound care to patients to decrease complications, speed healing time, and assist in maximum recovery for patients. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education: Must have completed or hold one of the following: * Two (2) years of experience in a Med/Surg environment * A formal nurse aide course * A current certified nurse aide registry * A medical assistant course * A current medical assistant certificate * A patient care technician course * A current patient care technician certificate * Must be a currently enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing and must have documentation of basic fundamentals of nursing from the school * Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing * Parkland's job specific training program Experience: * Previous experience as a wound care technician preferred. Equivalent Education and/or Experience Certification/Registration/Licensure: Must have current heartsaver provider CPR course completion card within 30 * American Heart Association * American Red Cross * Military Training Network Skills or Special Abilities: * Must be able to successfully complete all department assigned competencies. * Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and hospital personnel. * Must be able to document care given in the medical record. * Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors. * Must have good fine motor and manual dexterity skills.
